“We will be saved through the articulation of what we have forgotten.” — Stephanie Mines Nothing restores embodied cultural sensitivity more than a woman claiming her right to have her baby and be with her baby or babies if she births multiples, immediately after birth, and to receive the placenta that unites them in their commitment to life. This is true even if there is a stillbirth.
Thank you Stephanie. Natal stuff is such a big theme right now for me personally and I believe collectively.
A couple of months ago I booked some CRM in utero therapy (my first proper session tomorrow) booking this started a process, memories resurfacing, pain and grief moving.
Then your Resilience book came 🤯😂 ... OK so now I know I'm on track. I'm only half way through the book but I can tell you that I was really struggling that week and reading your words were of great support and comfort.
My cousin is pregnant, we are close and since her mum passed I help out a lot and have grown very close to her 18month old. She is pregnant again and will soon have an 2 year old and a newborn. The socioeconomic issues they face, the area in which they live, the conditioning that they are subject to exasperates me sometimes, but I feel situations that people are born into are not to be lamented, who am I to cast doubt onto what another being is born into?
I myself am pregnant with project.
This gestational period is real, felt and I believe collectively monumental.
